Chemistry and materials Platform Science for a changing planet

Our platform combines research and development activities around the study of the behavior of powders and processes. Our scientific programs allow us to address all the topics related to powders and to develop a more fundamental and multi-scale approach linking powder-process-product. The platform includes 3 development axes: characterization and analysis of powders; shaping and elaboration of powders; design, modeling and simulation of processes. Having 25 years of experience and being recognized as one of the most innovative structures in Hauts de France, our platform offers rigorous and innovative solutions that promote technology transfer from academic research to industry. Following a multidisciplinary approach, we support industry in training, research and development of processes.

The PPTS platform possess a range of equipment for:

  • granulometric and morphological analysis of powders (Mastersizer 3000, Zetasizer nano S, optical microscope)
  • Textural analysis of powders (Pycnometer, mercury porosimeter, porosity analyzer)
  • Powder flow analysis (Ring shear tester, powder rheometer, powder settling equipment, powder dispersibility calculation equipment)
  • elaboration and coating of materials (Planetary ball Mill100, nano-grinder, pulverisette, high-shear batch mixer, spray drying)
  • development and modeling of fluidized bed processes (fluidized bed, micro-fluidized bed, signal processing, CFD)
